Stephanie D. Wilson

On July 4, 2006, aerospace engineer Stephanie D. Wilson made her first journey into space on the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery. This was about 14 years after Mae C. Jemison became the first African American female astronaut in space. As of 2021, Stephanie has logged 42 days in space, the most of any female African American astronaut. In 2020, Stephanie became one of 18 astronauts training for the NASA Artemis program. Stephanie could possible be the first woman to the walk on the moon.
