Marva Collins founded the Westside Preparatory School after 14 years of teaching in Chicago’s troubled public school system. She began the school on the second floor of her home. She has received recognition as a highly respected educator on the CBS program 60 minutes and a made-for-TV movie, The Marva Collins’ Story.
